Year 4 Weekly Update – Week 7 🍂
What a fantastic week we have had in Year 4!
A huge thank you to all the parents and family members who joined us for our Your Passport to Europe workshop! It was lovely to see everyone getting involved, and the finished postcards look absolutely fantastic. The children worked so hard on their European landmarks and flags, and we are delighted with how they have turned out. We hope you enjoyed the experience as much as we did!
✍️ Ancient Egyptian Riddles
We have now completed our Ancient Egyptian riddles, and I have been so impressed by the children's creativity and flair for figurative language. They have been using expanded noun phrases, similes, metaphors and personification to create some wonderfully mysterious clues. The children have really risen to the challenge, and I cannot wait for you to read their work at Parents' Evening next week. I think you will be very impressed!
🔬 Science – An Egg-citing Experiment!
Next week, we will be putting on our scientist hats to investigate how different liquids affect tooth enamel over time. We will be using eggshells to model tooth enamel and observing what happens when they are exposed to different liquids. It promises to be an egg-citing experiment, and we are looking forward to making predictions, observing changes and discussing what our results tell us about looking after our teeth!
📚 Five Footballs for Reading!
A big well done to the children who have achieved their five footballs for reading! ⚽⚽⚽⚽⚽ This is a fantastic achievement, and I am so pleased to see your hard work and commitment to reading paying off. Keep it up, everyone! Remember, regular reading at home makes such a difference.
📚 Reading Reminder
Please remember to read at home every day and make sure your child’s reading record is kept up to date. Regular reading helps to build fluency, develop vocabulary and improve comprehension. We love celebrating the children’s reading achievements in school, so keep working towards those five footballs
We are looking forward to seeing you all at Parents' Evening next week and sharing more of the wonderful learning that has been taking place in Year 4.
Have a lovely weekend!
