Special Educational Needs
We want all children to receive the best possible education so that they can develop to their full potential, bearing in mind their individual needs and abilities. In accordance with this principle, we recognise that all children are different. We use resources available to meet individual needs and make full use of externally provided facilities where appropriate.

The school has set procedures for identifying and assessing the special needs of individual children. At various stages these involve teaching staff, parents, external agencies and of course the children themselves.

We make every effort to adapt and adjust the curriculum for pupils and provide additional support where necessary. This support is often provided from specialist services including Educational Psychology, specialist teachers and Social Services.

The school's Special Educational Needs Policy is monitored, reviewed and updated annually and has regard to the "Special Educational Needs and Disability Code of Practice."

If you have any concerns, please discuss them with your child's class teacher initially.  Advice can also be sought from the SENDCO (Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator), Mrs L Dunwell, and the Headteacher, Mrs J Winnard. There is also a designated Governor for special educational needs, Mrs S Farr, who can be contacted via the school if parents have any further questions.
