Self-portraits

In FS2, we have painted self portraits and drawn pictures of ourselves. When drawing we have focused on drawing with increasing detail. We have been impressed with how many children draw with a strong tripod grip. Strong pencil grip is a very important part of becoming a confident writer. Children have also been keen to draw pictures of things linked to their own interests such as dinosaurs.  We have added this week's drawings and paintings to our display in the EYFS Unit. 

Also, the children have enjoyed mark making outdoors. We have experimented with large chalks to make our own marks! We have also been practising writing our names. Lots of us can confidently recognise our own name now and are gaining confidence to write it.
