Early Geography.....

Date: 18th Jan 2024 @ 3:44pm

In FS2 we have completed activities this week to support our Geography skills. We have looked at different maps and discussed about the purpose of a map and how it helps us. We looked at a large map of the world, a map of Great Britain and then a smaller map of a animal park which showed us how to get to different areas to see different animals. Lots of us talked about how we have used maps on trips to places like "Yorkshire Wildlife Park". We then made our own maps - showing our route travelling from home to our school. Some of us chose to make our own treasure maps. One person made a map showing their journey from home to Disneyland, including a clear picture of an airplane - as "It's too far to walk there".  Others enjoyed using the bee-bots, discussing different directions - forward, turn, backwards - aiming to get to different places on our own newly created 'FS2 map'. Some of us were also keen to take photographs of our own on the Ipad - showing a keen interest in technology!
