Owl Babies

In the EYFS Unit we have been reading 'Owl Babies'. The children have become confident in talking about the key events in the story and the characters.

FS2 have also thought about the feelings of the 3 baby owls and have noted they feel 'lonely' when the Owl Mother goes away. FS2 have also learned that owls are nocturnal animals. We learned that nocturnal animals are active at night time and sleep in the day time. We researched about other nocturnal animals and found out that hedgehogs and foxes are aso nocturnal. 

FS1 have talked about the sky being 'dark' in the story at night time. One pupil also noticed that the 'Owls have to be brave when their Mummy goes away'. 

We now have a small world area dedicated to the Owl Babies for the childen to re-tell the story themselves! They have enjoyed accessing it this week.
