Geography in Year 1

This half term our Geography learning has all been based around learning about the UK. 

In this unit, we have ‘flown’ around the United Kingdom, learning about the countries of the UK and developing our learning beyond our own locality. We have explored the UK by looking at individual countries, capital cities and human and physical features of each country.

We now know the 4 countires that make up the UK. We know the 4 patron saints, the flags and the capitals of each country. We know the longest river in England and the largest loch in Scotland, the biggest mountain in England and the biggest in Scotland. We also know which flower represnts each country.
