Heather Garth is a happy school where we aim to achieve high standards in all areas of school life.
Teachers, parents/carers and children need to work together for children to achieve their best. The school website includes a blog for each class, this enables parents/carers to see what their child’s class has been doing during the week and leave comments on the work displayed.
Parents/carers are encouraged and expected to take an interest in their child’s education. If any parent/carer would like to help in school on a regular basis, then please contact your child’s class teacher who will be more than pleased to make arrangements for you.
Consultation afternoons/evenings are held three times a year. These enable parents/ carers to discuss their child’s progress with the class teacher. An appointment system is used on these occasions to enable parents/ carers and teachers to speak confidentially and to reduce waiting times. A written report detailing their child’s progress over the year, is sent to all parents/carers in the summer term.
Parents/carers are welcome to visit the school at any time. However, it is advisable to make an appointment if you have a matter which you wish to discuss with a member of staff.
